Thomas F. Sheehan, Jr. Thomas Sheehan serves as Senior Vice President and Claims Manager at C.R. Vince & Associates. His principal responsibilities at the firm include investigation of claims, technical analysis, retention and supervision of local counsel, retention and supervision of experts and other claim support personnel. Mr. Sheehan's sixteen years of experience in the field of professional liability claims management and his prior experience as an architect gives him a unique insight to the dynamics of resolving construction claims. He has worked to resolve claims against prominent design firms nationwide. His major cases include the Lake Merritt Plaza litigation, California condominium owners' associations' litigation against a structural engineer; several lawsuits including construction worker quadriplegic injuries and deaths; and indoor air quality claims involving schools in Virginia, Pennsylvania, Florida, Indiana and Michigan. Previously, Mr. Sheehan worked at Thomas F. Sheehan, Inc., the managing general agent for a domestic carrier writing professional liability insurance for various professionals including architects and engineers. Mr. Sheehan was responsible for claims and coverage analysis. His duties included the management and resolution of claims against policyholders on a professional book of insurance for architects, engineers, construction managers, design/build contractors, lawyers, accountants, actuaries, and real estate agents. Mr. Sheehan had further responsibility for reporting to excess carriers and reinsurers for claims that had potential to penetrate their layers of insurance. In 1988, Mr. Sheehan was named to the position of Vice President, Claims of Thomas F. Sheehan, Inc. In 1977, Mr. Sheehan was employed by the Chicago office of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) as an architect. During his tenure, Mr. Sheehan was involved in the preparation of design and construction documents and the review of shop drawings of various architectural and engineering projects, both domestic and overseas. Mr. Sheehan graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Architecture degree in 1977. He holds a property and casualty insurance brokers license in the State of Illinois. He has been a member of the board of directors of Thomas F. Sheehan, Inc., Peace Corporation, Inc., and Professional Risk Management, Inc.
