Reed Millsaps, J.D.

Reed Millsaps brings an extensive legal and insurance background to his of counsel position with C.R. Vince & Associates. His responsibilities at the firm include the investigation, defense and resolution of professional liability claims and the investigation of first-party property claims relating to construction projects. His expertise includes providing legal counsel to insurers on all phases of litigation over the interpretation of professional liability insurance and litigation. In addition to his construction practice, he is experienced in employer-related liability issues, such as Employment Practices and Directors and Officers.

Mr. Millsaps has been engaged in the private practice of law, both with major litigation firms, including Phelan, Pope & John in Chicago, and on his own. Mr. Millsaps has extensive experience in insurance, personal injury, commercial and civil-rights litigation. Mr. Millsaps has tried cases to verdict in Wisconsin, Illinois and Florida in both federal and state courts. Mr. Millsaps has an extensive appellate practice in civil and criminal matters, and is a member of the bar of the United States Supreme Court, as well as the Seventh, Eighth and Eleventh federal circuit courts of appeals.

Mr. Millsaps has been involved in the insurance business since 1978, beginning his career with the Architects and Engineer’s Professional Liability Program for Shand, Morahan and Company.

Mr. Millsaps has a B.S. from Northwestern University, and a J.D. cum laude from Chicago-Kent College of Law, where he served on both the Moot Court Board and the Law Review. Mr. Millsaps has written a number of articles concerning legislation and environmental issues, and is a part-time faculty member at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin, where he has taught legal research, political science and business law.
